  1. Hi David,

    I've never considered adding cottage cheese to a protein shake. Does it taste good once the other ingredients have been added? How much of the carbs are sugars?

    Regards,

    Martin.

  2. Martin:

    Good to hear from you!

    Yes, the cottage cheese along with the lemon, almond, and vanilla combine to give the shake its "cheesecake" taste. If you like the taste of cheesecake, you'll like this. It tastes NOTHING like cottage cheese.

    As far as Sugars go:

    1/2 C. Skim milk has 6g sugars;
    1/2 C. Cottage Cheese has 4g sugars
    (primarily glactose and lactose)

    3/4 C. Frozen Blueberries has 3g sugars

    The amount of sugars in the protein powder will vary, depending on the brand you use. The brand I used contains 3g sugars per serving.

    So altogether out of the 28g of carbs, 16g are sugars--primarily monosaccharides and disaccharides. BTW, these simple sugars do the most good when consumed right after your workout--see the general nutrition page for more info.
